Born in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, and raised in the culturally rich environment of El Paso, Cynthia Barraza Guerra proudly embraces her Mexican heritage and holds family values close to her heart. With nearly two decades of diverse healthcare experience, Cynthia’s journey has been marked by a profound commitment to serving others.
Her professional path has been diverse, spanning roles from substance abuse counseling and victim advocacy to managing caseloads as a mental health probation officer. Transitioning into nursing, Cynthia began her nursing career in the pediatric ICU before ultimately advancing her expertise as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-all earned from the esteemed University of Texas at El Paso. Her educational background underscores her dedication to understanding the complexities of human behavior and providing comprehensive care to her patients.
Currently, Cynthia serves as a vital member of the compassionate team at Freedom Behavioral Health Solutions in Alaska. Her unwavering dedication to patient advocacy aligns perfectly with Freedom’s mission to empower individuals on their journey towards mental and emotional well-being. Cynthia shares Freedom’s belief in “Freeing your mind,” allowing everyone to maximize their time on this earth. Life is short, and Cynthia is dedicated to helping individuals live it to the fullest by providing compassionate care and guidance on their mental health journey.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Cynthia finds solace and joy in spending time with her beloved husband, three beautiful boys and their cherished fur babies. Whether traveling or enjoying moments at home, her commitment to her family reflects the same compassion and care she brings to her patients, creating a seamless blend of personal and professional fulfillment.
Nathan Lenz is a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist who has been practicing independently in Kansas since 2012. He holds a master’s degree in psychology from Azusa Pacific University in California where he focused on marriage and family therapy. Nathan has worked with a wide range of clients ranging from children to adults, even working with couples and families. Nathan has extensive experience helping clients who struggle with anything ranging from depression, anxiety, and ADHD to more existential issues that arise from life stage transitions and difficulties experienced by your daily life.
Nathan’s approach to therapy is collaborative and evidence based. He works together with clients to build confidence in recognizing and overcoming what is hindering their mental health. To do this he focuses on building a supportive and safe environment where he and the client use their therapeutic relationship and an eclectic mix of therapeutic techniques to empower the client’s growth and change.
